Brief description

Software engineering is trending toward heightened autonomy and intelligence. Agentic AI and autonomous agents go beyond standard AI: they pursue goals, adapt to their environment, and communicate.

A primary aim of this winter school is to give participants a foundational grasp of Agentic AI through a software engineering lens. The curriculum connects theoretical frameworks with real-world implementation, exploring both directions of the relationship — Agentic AI for software engineering, and the engineering requirements of AI agents themselves.

Through lectures, practical labs and collaborative brainstorming, attendees engage with large language models and generative tools. The school covers the design and coordination of autonomous agents, decision-making frameworks, and tool-based agent construction.

It also addresses scalability, reliability, sustainability and the carbon footprint of AI-intensive systems.
